ReplyDeleteThe Chupacabra is a legend in South America. It was said that it attacks animals ( especially goats) and that it drinks the blood of them. Chupa means to suck and Cabra means goat. So it is also named goat-sucker.
The Chupacabra might be 1 to 1,5 metres long, has spikes on its back and is able to change its colour. Also, it might have wings, a big head and huge eyes. It is said that it is an ugly creature.
March 1995 (Puerto Rico): 8 sheep were attacked and killed.
August 1995 (Puerto Rico): 150 farm animals were killed. Madelyne Tolentino said that she saw a Chupacabra.
1975 (Moca): There were many killings, the people thought it was The Vampire of Moca.
Also many animals were found dead in other countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, …

August 2005: A farmer might have killed a chupacabra and might have taken photos. The members of a wildlife department said that the creature was a coyote with a skin illness.
January 2014: Also when there were 60 killed sheep in the South of Russia, they thought that wild dogs killed them.
2007: Many chicken were killed in the last years. The farmer’s wife Phylis Canion said that killers had been three animals with blue-grey skin and no hair. Later it was found out that they had been hybrids between Coyotes and Mexican Wolves.

ReplyDeleteThe Yeti
ReplyDeleteThe Yeti, also called Abominable snowman is a mythical creature which lives in the Himalayas, a big group of mountains in the Far East. In Tibet, which is a small country near China, the Yeti is called “Gang Mi” which means glacier ghost. They also call him “Chumung” which means snow ghost. The native people believe that the Yeti is the god of hunting and the Master of all red deer.
The Yeti is 2-3 meters tall and looks like a very big ape or primate. It can weigh more than 400 kg. Some people have found footprints which are longer than 43 centimeters. The native people, the Lepcha and the Tibetans describe him as a big ape with a long and narrow scalp and light red hair. The footprints were found in 5000-7000 meters high up in the mountains. Some scientists believe that the Yeti is a distant relative from bears.
The Austrian climber Rheinhold Messner even wrote a book about the Yeti. In his book he also writes that he believes the Yeti is the the same animal as the (Ursus arctos pruinosus) Tibet bear.
In the Buddhist monastery of Khumjung, in Nepal you can admire a Yeti scalp. In the 1960’s there were a second Yeti scalp but it disappeared unexplained. Some Scientists validate that the Yeti scalp was made out of mountain goat leather but the natives won’t believe it yet.
In the middle of 2014 a sience work, which investigated the DNA from 37 of human apes said that there is a chance that in the Himalayas there exists a unexplored type of big primates but it’s only a chance.

Zombies Everybody knows the term “Zombie” but what are Zombies? A Zombie is a creature that is apparently revived from the dead, it became to a zombie trough a poison or magic and turned to an undead and soulless creature, now they must obey to their master. They look very ugly, horrible and move stiff and slowly. A Zombie is a monster of the category scary beings. But they aren’t immortal. A Zombie is a monster of the element earth and lives on the churchyard. But they have no fixed living space. As children we were afraid of the scary Zombies. There are a lot of stories about them. Our parents said that zombies aren’t real, but were they right? There were a lot of sightings of Zombies for example in Morocco Russia and on the American Virgin Islands. Could a zombie- apocalypse really start or is it just science fiction? That´s the question. I think that there could be no zombie apocalypse because there are no scientific facts about the sightings. The term Zombie comes from the word nzùmbe from the Central African language Kimbundu. Zombies are also called the “undead”. There are also a lot of movies about Zombies for example (I am legend, Warm bodies ...). In movies Zombies are always bad, ugly, horrible and dangerous but I think that is too exaggerated. Because I don’t believe in Zombies and certainly not in a Zombie apocalypse. Another delusion is that when a Zombie swallows salt he will become a human again. Leonie Hödl & Tobias Portugaller
ReplyDeleteWerewolf
ReplyDeleteA werewolf is one of the central figures of the oldest superstitions. This monster has been terrifying children and adults worldwide for thousands of years. Some dictionaries define the word as turning a witch into a wolf. The werewolf theme was always popular in the folklore worldwide, and each country has its name for the creature.
Werewolves and their terrible doings were known already in the time when Rome was being founded. People in Ancient Greece also feared the scary creature. But werewolves as well as vampires were particularly scary for people in Eastern Europe where the only mentioning of a werewolf made peasants turn white and look around numb with fear. Unlike vampires that got out from their coffins to suck blood out of living people, werewolves do not belong to the other world. The werewolf is an absolutely earthly phenomenon. It is highly likely that the turning of humans into wolves was connected with some disease, and anyone could be affected with the disease. It was for sure that a werewolf bite would make a victim diseased. But nobody knew when and under what conditions the terrible werewolf symptoms could reveal themselves. And this fact explained the wild fear and mass executions in the Middle Ages when people suspected of being werewolves were burnt or executed with swords. When the mass fear sweepingly spread, people known as batty or those having something wolfish in their features could be immediately prosecuted as werewolves. I have seen a documentation where people say that they have seen a werewolf.
